What is a Quilt Along?

A Quilt Along is often referred to as a “QAL” or “SAL” (sew along). It is an organized event with designated start and end dates. The event can be held in person, virtually (online), or both. The QAL focus is generally a specific pattern but possibly a general theme.

Participants register with the event host. Then sew and share progress pictures on social media with the designated hashtag (Example: #MysticalQAL). The goal is to increase community ties amonst participants thru sharing pictures of their fabrics, blocks, and project progress.

    Celebrate the love of sewing quilts and craft projects! Join fellow creative types worldwide for the free online community event. Simply register to be eleigble to win prizes. Then sew what you like with the patterns and fabrics you enjoy - and share with the event hashtag. Optional quilt along events and tutorials provided throughout. The goal is to sew at your own pace to enjoy the creative process.

    Who loves being inspired by other quilters? We do! The greatest joy in joining a quilt along is the inspiration of fellow quilters sharing their fabrics and witnessing the effect on the same pattern transform into many stunning quilts.
